This policy explains what personal data Glennovation collects through this website, why, and what rights you have over it. Questions? Get in touch at any time.
Who We Are
Glennovation is a web design and IT services business based in Dublin, Ireland, providing website design, hosting, and related digital services to small businesses across Ireland. For the purposes of GDPR, Glennovation is the “data controller” for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at glen@glennovation.ie or via our Contact page.
What Personal Data We Collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to provide, or that’s generated through your normal use of the website. This includes:
| Source | Personal Data Collected |
|---|---|
| Contact form submissions | Your name, email address, phone number (if provided), the service you’re interested in, and your message |
| Consultation bookings | Your name and email address, collected through our Google Calendar booking widget when you schedule a free consultation |
| Newsletter sign-up | Your email address, collected through our newsletter sign-up form and stored with our email marketing provider, MailerLite, only if you choose to subscribe |
| Technical & usage data | Standard information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically through website hosting logs and, if you accept Marketing cookies, through Google Analytics |
We do not collect payment card details, government ID numbers, or any special category data (such as health or biometric information) through this website.
How We Use Your Data
We use the personal data you provide only for the purposes it was given, specifically to:
Respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
Schedule and manage consultation bookings
Send newsletter emails to subscribers who opt in, via MailerLite
Provide quotes, proposals, and ongoing client services
Maintain business, accounting, and tax records as required by Irish law
Understand and improve how visitors use this website
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Our Legal Basis for Processing
Under GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases to process your data:
| Legal Basis | When It Applies |
|---|---|
| Consent | When you voluntarily submit the contact form, book a consultation, or sign up to our newsletter (confirmed via double opt-in email) |
| Legitimate interest | Responding to business enquiries and improving our website and services |
| Contract | Where processing is necessary to deliver a service you’ve engaged us for |
| Legal obligation | Where we’re required to retain records under Irish tax or company law |
Third-Party Services We Use
This website relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each may process some data independently, under their own privacy policies:
FormSubmit
Processes and forwards contact form submissions to our email address. FormSubmit does not store submitted data beyond what’s needed to deliver it.
Google Calendar
Powers our consultation booking widget. Booking details are processed by Google in line with Google’s own privacy policy.
Google Maps
Embedded on our Contact page to show our general location. Only loads after you accept Functional cookies through our Usercentrics cookie banner, since loading the map allows Google to collect standard technical data.
Microsoft Azure
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Azure’s infrastructure may process technical data as part of standard web hosting.
MailerLite
Powers our newsletter sign-up form and stores subscriber email addresses. Used only for subscribers who opt in, with double opt-in confirmation required. This page also loads MailerLite’s tracking script, which only runs after you accept Marketing cookies through our Usercentrics banner. Governed by MailerLite’s privacy policy.
Elfsight
Powers the Google Reviews widget on our homepage and the Instagram feed widget on our About page. Both only load after you accept Marketing cookies through our Usercentrics banner, since loading them connects your browser directly to Elfsight’s servers to display review/feed content.
Blacknight
Our accredited domain registrar, used to register and manage .ie, .com, and other domain names purchased through Glennovation. Domain registration details are processed by Blacknight under its own privacy policy.
WhoisFreaks
Powers the live domain availability search on our homepage. Only the domain name you search is sent through our secure backend to check availability — no personal data is shared.
Google Analytics
Used to understand how visitors use this website (e.g. pages viewed, time on site). Only loads after you accept Marketing cookies through our Usercentrics banner, and processes data under Google’s own privacy policy.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where this happens, they do so under recognised safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
This website uses Usercentrics, a cookie consent management platform, so that visitors have clear, granular control over which cookies they accept. A cookie banner appears on your first visit, letting you choose which categories of cookies to allow.
If you accept Functional cookies, the Google Map on our Contact page loads. If you accept Marketing cookies, this website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. pages viewed, time on site), the Elfsight review/feed widgets on our homepage and About page load, and our newsletter page loads MailerLite’s tracking script. All of these only load after you give the relevant consent, and can be withdrawn at any time by changing your preferences through the Usercentrics banner. Our Google Calendar booking widget opens as a separate page when you click to book, rather than loading automatically, so it is governed by Google’s own privacy policy at the point you choose to use it.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for. Contact form and enquiry data is generally kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. If you become a client, relevant records are retained for the duration of our working relationship and afterwards where required — for example, Irish law generally requires business and financial records to be kept for six years for tax purposes.
How We Protect Your Data
This website runs on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps with SSL/TLS encryption included as standard, meaning data submitted through this site is encrypted in transit. Access to any personal data we receive is limited to Glennovation, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep it secure and prevent unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject under GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
Restrict or object to how we process your data
Request a portable copy of your data
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on consent
Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at glen@glennovation.ie. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission, the supervisory authority for data protection in Ireland.
Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when we introduce new tools such as Usercentrics. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We recommend checking back periodically.
